Natural Red Rice

Natural Red Rice resembles wild rice's nutty cooked flavor and popcorn-like aroma. We source this rice with its red hull intact for the deep reddish color and nutritional value of our Natural Red Rice.

  • Nutty, earthy flavor with popcorn-like aroma
  • Wonderful firm, but chewy cooked texture
  • Deep reddish-brown color
  • Medium-grain rice
  • Naturally gluten free
  • Higher in fiber with more natural bran than white rice
  • Use it to add color variation and unique flavor in any recipe calling for brown rice or white rice
  • Kosher Certified

Basic Prep

Rinse 1 cup Natural Red Rice. Cover with 3 cups of water. Bring to boil, cover. Reduce heat and simmer until water is absorbed, about 45 to 50 minutes. Drain excess water. Rice will burst when tender.

Suggested Uses

  • Blend with wild rice, brown rice or other whole grains
  • Use in risottos, pilafs, fried rice or side dishes
  • Substitute for brown rice to add color and flavor to any rice dish
  • Holds cooked taste and texture well, making it ideal for banquets

Description

All whole-grain rice is considered brown rice because it retains its whole-grain bran layer after milling. Red Rice comes from a unique red bran layer, which gives the rice its distinct auburn color.

Our Natural Red Rice is minimally processed to retain nutritional elements and outstanding, deep red color.

  • Higher in fiber with more natural bran than white rice
  • Good source of vitamins and minerals
  • Use to add color variation and unique flavor in any recipe calling for brown rice or white rice
