                       NATURE'S MILLS Artisan Soup Beans, Blend

Beans are among the most versatile and commonly eaten foods throughout the world, and many varieties are grown in the U.S. Because of their nutritional composition, these economical foods have the potential to improve the diet quality and long-term health of those who consume beans regularly.

  • Dry beans are high in natural antioxidants. The color of the bean coat appears to affect the antioxidant capacity because this correlates with total phenolic content of the bean.
  • Beans provide protein, fiber, folate, iron, potassium and magnesium while containing little or no total fat, trans-fat, sodium and cholesterol.
  • Colored beans (red, brown or black) possess greater antioxidant activity than just white beans. 

 

Study has found by eating a variety of legumes, variety of beans on a regulary basis, may be valuable not only in the prevention of certain diseases and beans have also been found to help the management of blood sugar levels along with a good steady diet and exercising regulary.

  • Beans are rich in complex carbohydrates (such as dietary fiber), which are digested more slowly.
  • As a result, bean consumption has been shown to increase the feelings of fullness and help regulate plasma glucose and insulin levels after meals.
  • Legume fiber was among the fiber types associated with reducing risk for metabolic syndrome, which includes glucose disturbances and the increased risk of diabetes 
  • Beans are found to be a good source of protein and rich in fiber
  • Lentils, split peas and barley dissolve during cooking, lending creaminess and body to the soup

 

Basic Prep

Sort carefully and rinse thoroughly, with mild agitation, until water runs clear. Place blend in a pot with a lid. Add enough water to cover by 1 inch. Bring to a boil, then simmer covered for 1-1/2 to 2 hours. (Cooking time will vary by brand

 

Suggested Uses

  • Perfect in soup, chili, salads, or a nice side for chicken or fish, etc. 
  • Works well with savory and spicy seasonings, as well as fresh herbs and vegetables, allowing for numerous creative interpretations of the final product.
  • Adding meat or vegetable stock can be used to flavor this blend, along with vegetables, dried or fresh herbs, chiles, meat or sausage

Store in a dry, cool place.

    UPS reserves the right to inspect damaged goods prior to approving claims. Please hold damaged goods for at least 3-5 days after reporting to Nature’s Mills (The KEELEN COMPANY).

    LTL Freight Shipments

    Please inspect your LTL shipments upon receipt. Any missing or damaged product must be listed on the BOL before signing with the driver. This must be reported to Nature’s Mills (The KEELEN COMPANY) immediately but no later than 3 days after receiving merchandise; otherwise credit / replacement will not be given.

    Dry Beans Shelf life

    Our dry bean products have a 24 to 36-months shelf life. (can be longer) We do not recommend selling or eating product beyond the products' best-buy sell date (shelf life) for sell or consumption. It may not make you sick. The product may be stale and lack freshness.
