NMs provide the highest quality of specialty and domestic beans at a reasonable cost. Our beans are all natural, certified kosher and/or organic by the requirements of the USDA's NationalOrganic Program.
NMs go through a great deal of effort and process to say that our beans are certified kosher and/or organic. our beans are regulated through an extensive certification process and undergo an annual inspection to ensure they meet the USDA's National Organic Program requirements. This means that:
- NO GMO's (genetically modified organisms)
- NO toxic pesticides or petroleum-based synthetic fertilizers
- NO irradiation or sewage sludge
- NO antibiotics, growth hormones, or steroids
Basic Prep
NMs suggest customers to carefully sort beans and rinse thoroughly. Soak beans overnight. Rinse and place in a large pot and cover with fresh water. Bring to a boil for 10 minutes, reduce heat and simmer, covered, for 1 to 1-1/2 hours until tender. (Suggested cooking time may vary by each brand)
Recommended Usages
- Wonderful in soups such as pasta and minestrone, hearty stews, cold salads, rice dishes and chili, etc.
- Make a creamy hummus or blend into bean dips and purees
- Delicious stewed with garlic, olive oil and rosemary, etc.
